Health insurance is like a safety net. On one hand, insurance companies offer information to keep you from walking that tightrope so you may keep out of danger and stay healthy; on the other hand, if you do fall and injure yourself, your safety net can keep you from paying through your nose. In the United States, health insurance is covered by private insurance or social insurance programs. Health insurance protects people from having to pay high medical expenses in the aftermath of grave diseases or injuries. There are many kinds of insurance programs and coverage plans. The United States' foremost health insurance agencies are reaching out into regions where there are many uninsured citizens. Medicare is one of the United States' most widely recognized health insurance programs. It has coverage plans that apply to individuals, groups, and businesses. Medicare has four distinct coverage plans and one supplementary insurance plan. Medicare Plan A only covers overnight hospital stays including a semiprivate room, medication, and medical tests. It also covers convalescence period of at least three days. Plan B is medical insurance. It covers doctor and nursing services, medical tests and therapy, and medication, but not hospital stays. Medicare Plan C is also known as Medicare Advantage. It covers some of the advantages of Plans A, B, and D. If you do not have a personal physician to look after you, Medicare can assign one for you. This is available in any FL Medicare agency, which caters to residents without health insurance. Because of the economic crisis in recent years, many Floridians do not have health insurance, or discontinued what they had. Medicare Part D includes insurance plans on purchase of prescription drugs. This is incredibly useful for Floridians who may have trouble purchasing the medication they need. Florida Medicare plans of this type covers up to 95% of the drug expenses. Like the other Medicare coverage plans, some Part D plans may vary according to an applicant's income and civil status. Florida Medicare Supplement providers would point out that Medicare Supplement or Medigap is only partially covered by Medicare. In some coverage plans, the patient is responsible for over 50% of the expenses. Medicare Supplement plan is available for those over 65 years of age, and those eligible for Medicare Plans A and B. This plan also varies according to the patient's civil status, and health habits (whether the individual smokes or not). You may visit Medicare.gov and MedicareRight.org for more information.
